Reducing the Appearance of Prominent Ears with Otoplasty

March 23, 2012

As children grow, they begin to notice what makes each of them different from another. Children who’s ears stick out from the sides of their head are often the subject of teasing and may suffer with poor self esteem issues as a result. Dr. Swail uses a procedure called Otoplasty to improve the appearance of large prominent ears.

Otoplasty Denver or ear surgery is a surgical procedure in which Dr. Swail is able to reposition the cartilage behind the ear bringing them closer to the side of the head. This procedure can be performed on children, teens or adults. The incisions are placed behind the ears and leave little or no visible scarring. The length of the procedure varies on the severity of the ears being corrected but generally lasts anywhere between 1 1/2 and 3 hours.

If you feel that you or your child may benefit from ear surgery, contact our office and schedule your confidential consultation. We will help you determine if otoplasty is right for you.
